I'm Janine, a psychedelic researcher, consultant, and holistic practitioner working on my PhD in Psychology. My focus is on depth psychology, holistic wellness, and the study of plant medicines.
Prior to finding my own path to holistic healing, I served in the US Air Force as a medic, working alongside doctors and nurses in OBGYN and In-Vitro Fertilization. My time in the medical field has provided me with valuable knowledge and experiences that continue to influence my work and perspective to this day.
When I got out of the service in 2019, I had quite an identity crisis. What now? I thought.
That was when I started experimenting with psychedelics, specifically psilocybin. I was prescribed SSRI medications during my time in the service— something I really didn't want to take but was told will help me feel "normal." If normal was feeling zoned out and zombie-fied, sure.
I knew there had to be another way. It took a few tries and a whole lot of failed attempts until I successfully got off SSRIs in 2022 with the help of (microdosing) psilocybin.
Ever since then, I devoted myself to studying the fascinating field of plant medicines. I am a firm believer that the benefits one can gain from the proper use of psychedelics greatly outweigh the costs. I have participated in countless psilocybin sessions (both solo and with groups) and three Ayahuasca ceremonies with my fellow veterans through the non-profit organization, Heroic Hearts Project.
My experiences with psychedelics have been eye-opening, and I truly believe they could help others, too. Even though many people still view these substances as taboo, I am dedicated to sharing what I have learned in hopes of making a difference.
While I am in the process of working on my Ph.D., I am offering 1:1 coaching in holistic wellness, microdosing, and psychedelic integration. I am a certified transformational and psychedelic integration coach with Being True to You.
Find out how we can work together here.
I will also provide helpful information in my blog (currently in the works!) as I navigate the long but rewarding journey towards a doctorate in psychology.
